Its near and dear to EDH players playing any sort of deck that has good ETB creatures or commanders that rely on ETB triggers/blink strategies

This isnt terribly far from my preferred number, as I usually like to run 11 or 12 myself, but its crucial to keep the cards coming in decks like these that are so vulnerable to board wipes

The set had many things going on, obviously, so the rare cycle of mono-colored artifacts may have gone largely unnoticed

Its an artifact, it cycles, and it sacrifices itself, which isnt as bad a combination as it sounds

In the current environment, targets like Grinning Ignus or Hornet Queen allow you to initiate infinite loops or generate a massive board presence for a fraction of their intended cost

This wont be the new standard for Collector Boosters as far as we can tell (so you can put down your pitchforks for now)
